cTrader Mobile Signals: A Safer Review Workflow

cTrader Mobile Signals can surface provider ideas quickly. Keep a review step between the notification and any order decision.

cTrader Mobile's Signals app is an inbox for provider ideas, not evidence that a signal deserves an order. The Mobile 5.11 release notes say the feature lets users review providers' signals and act on them; the useful discipline is to preserve a review step between the notification and the decision. Apple's release notes and FX News Group's 29 September report describe the same rollout.

What changed in cTrader Mobile 5.11

cTrader Mobile 5.11 renamed Blotter as the Signals app, added unread-signal counts and moved financial news to My cTrader, according to the official App Store notes and the independent report from FX News Group. The release is a change in how information arrives on a phone; it is not a published test of any signal provider's performance. Apple's release notes · FX News Group

That distinction matters because an unread badge answers only one question: something arrived. It does not record why the provider issued it, whether its assumptions fit the current account, or what would make the idea wrong.

Put context beside the signal

A workable mobile review has a small record before any execution decision. It need not be ornate. The point is to make the later choice reconstructable instead of leaving a trader with a notification and a vague memory.

RecordWhy it belongs in the review
Signal timestamp and providerSeparates the original idea from the moment it was seen.
Instrument and stated directionPrevents an idea from becoming detached from the market it named.
Entry condition and invalidationMakes the claim testable rather than treating the alert as an instruction.
Account constraintKeeps the signal separate from the account's own exposure and loss limits.
Decision and reasonLeaves an audit trail whether the signal is declined, observed or acted on.

This is the same reason an automated system needs a decision log: an outcome is hard to learn from when the inputs and guardrails were never recorded. A signal provider can supply an input. The trader still owns the account context.

Treat order timing as its own check

The 5.11 notes also describe market-on-open orders: an order can be placed while a symbol's market is closed and is submitted at market price when the market reopens. That is a specific order-state change, not a guarantee of a particular opening price. Apple's release notes · FX News Group

A review record therefore needs an explicit timing field. Was the idea examined while the market was trading, or was an order being staged for an open? Those are different decisions. Combining them makes it difficult to tell later whether a result came from the signal, the timing, or the order mechanism.

The same principle appears in a market-range test for cBots: a boundary or an order setting is part of execution logic, not a promise about the price that will be obtained.

Keep three authorities separate

A compact way to avoid turning a phone alert into delegated judgment is to separate three jobs:

  1. The signal identifies an idea supplied by someone else.
  2. The review records whether the idea has a defined context and a falsifiable condition.
  3. The account decision remains the explicit choice that accepts, declines or merely observes it.

This is a workflow boundary, not a claim that any category of signal is good or bad. It gives the trader a way to inspect the path afterwards. For automation, the related question is not whether a tool looks intelligent but which permissions it has; our cTrader AI permissions checklist uses the same separation between observation, platform control and order authority.

Frequently asked

Does the Signals app prove a provider's signal is reliable?

No. The published release information describes a way to review and act on signals; it does not publish performance evidence for a provider. Evaluate any provider's evidence separately.

What is a market-on-open order in cTrader Mobile 5.11?

The release notes describe an order placed while a symbol's market is closed that is automatically submitted at market price when the market reopens. That makes order timing a separate item to record and review. Apple's release notes · FX News Group

Can a review workflow predict whether a trade will work?

No. A review workflow documents the information and boundary behind a decision. It does not turn a signal into a forecast or remove the risk of loss.

realbacktesting builds cTrader tools around the same plain idea: keep the evidence, the guardrail and the decision visible enough to check. A faster alert is useful only when it does not erase the pause that makes the decision accountable.
