- It does not try to beat Bitcoin in its best years: it is not a leveraged bet on the price. It trades long and short, so Bitcoin's bad years were good years for the book.

What it needs
Capital, leverage and costs.
- Recommended starting balance: €50,000 on the Balanced preset — the capital of the published report. €30,000 is a workable floor.
- The floor is set by the broker's minimum order of 0.01 BTC, not by leverage. Each trade is sized from your balance and its stop; a trade that comes out below 0.01 BTC cannot be opened and is missing from your results. At today's Bitcoin prices: €50,000 takes about 96% of the trades, €30,000 about 88%, €20,000 about 83% and €10,000 about 64% — not recommended.
- Aggressive needs about 25% less capital and Conservative about 50% more. If your broker allows 0.001 BTC orders, divide all of this by ten.
- Leverage decides the margin, not the minimum. At 1:5 or higher the book never needs more than 36% margin, inside the 50% margin cap it ships with. At 1:2 — the usual retail crypto limit in the EU — some entries would be skipped for margin. If your broker caps the size of an order, the cBot sizes down to that cap instead of being rejected.
- The figures carry Skilling's real Bitcoin costs, tick by tick, and they are high: a spread of about 0.08% of the price plus a 0.075% commission on each side, roughly 0.23% per round trip, and a swap of about 13 USD per BTC per night. Over the period that was €21,184 of commission and €9,702 of swap, already deducted.
- A book that stays profitable through expensive costs has room to spare when they are cheaper. Run the free edition with your own broker's spread, commission and swap before you decide.
